We are delighted to announce the successful organization of AIM Asia’s flagship conference, AIDC Connect Asia 2024, held in Macau from November 18th to 20th, 2024. This event was co-organized with the IEEE IWSA conference. Prior to the conference, we convened the AIM Asia board meeting at L’Arc Hotel Macau to strategize for the upcoming year, guided by insights from AIM Global representatives. Additionally, we hosted a welcome reception dinner for our guests from AIM Asia and IEEE.
The opening ceremony featured distinguished guests from the Macau government, including the Director of Macao Post and Telecommunication Bureau (CTT), Economic and Technological Development Bureau, and Education and Youth Affairs Bureau representatives. We were also honored to have VIP guests from AIM Asia such as Elizabeth Sinclair from AIM Global, Masaki Ehara, Chairman of AIM Japan, Aileen Ryan, President of Rain Alliance, Peter Kazander, MD of LogiMAT, Mr. Taveechai Yang from Thai-International AIOT Association, Wilson Chong, Chairman of HKIOT, and company representatives like Lesley Sue, VP from SML Group, and YanJun, CEO of Digital China.
During the event, AIM Asia signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with IEEE Macau and LogiMAT, as well as the Thai-International AIOT Association, aimed at promoting technological exchanges, education, and strategic collaborations in AIDC. We featured an array of keynote speeches from both associations and companies. One highlight was the forum on fostering synergies between AIDC and AIOT in retail, logistics, and ESG, featuring six prominent leaders: Dr. Anna Lau, President of AIM Asia; Elizabeth Sinclair, a board member of AIM Global; Masaki Ehara, Chairman of AIM Japan; Aileen Ryan, President of Rain Alliance; Mr. Taveechai Yang, President of the Thai-International AIOT Association; and Wilson Chong, Chairman of HKIOT. Another engaging forum, “RFID and its Roles in Logistics, Retail, and Consumer Engagement,” was led by Kenneth Yung, COO of AIM Asia, with panelists including Yaw Peng Ng, APAC Head at EM Microelectronic; Lesley Sue, VP of Transformation and GM of Greater China at SML Group; Anntat Kueh, Senior Director at Rohde& Schwarz; Dr. Hubert Chan, Chairman of Hong Kong Communications; and Peter Kazander, MD of LogiMAT.
The event also showcased over ten exhibitions demonstrating advanced AIDC and AI technologies from companies like Ikenna, LT games, eSix Limited, and others. Additionally, our banquet dinner provided a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for more than 120 guests to network and share joyful moments together.
AIM Asia announced during the event that it would offer one year of complimentary memberships to AIDC end-user companies and AI strategic companies. Our goal is to build a robust ecosystem and further promote AIDC technologies across the region. We are excited to reveal that AIDC Connect Asia 2025 will be co-organized with our strategic partners, LogiMAT and Thai-International AIOT Association, taking place in Bangkok in October 2025. This collaboration is expected to bring numerous new partners and business opportunities to our AIM members, especially those from Asia.
